Summertime in Fairyland

My daughter and I came up with an idea of exploring the world of fairies through each season of the year.    This project took us a whole year to complete.  It involves lots of customs, creativity and of course a healthy dose of imagination.   Flechia (Kids at Play) did most of the customs and I took most of the pictures, did the photo editing and wrote the narrative story lines.    This project was a lot of fun for both of us and we would like to share it with you.   So sit back and enjoy a peek into the magical world of fairies.

Chapter One: Summertime Fun

Summertime is fun for all kids, whether you are human or fairy. The children are gathered at their favorite hang out and are having wonderful time.

Daisy and Ressey are playing chase among the green grass.

Rose, the delicate one, is scolding Toadstool for getting so dirty. He is a woodland elf and doesn’t mind the dirt.

Another one of their favorite games is the obstacle course race. Who ever can weave through the grass stalks first without getting tangled up, wins.

When it gets too hot, they move to the pond for a game of Duck, Duck, Goose on a lily pad.

Sometimes they fill the lily pad with water and have a bit of a swim to cool off.

Daisy is the adventurous one and she loves to take a boat ride around the pond.

Chapter Two: Summer Flowers

While the children are all playing and having fun the adults are opening all of the summer flowers.

Fushia is looking at her master piece. She just adores these flowers.

Liliana, the water fairy, has opened all of the water lilies. She is adorned in her favorite color and is looking very much like the water princess she is.

Pearl has spent so much time opening up all of her special flowers, as there are so many roses everywhere. It seems that humans like these blossoms the best.

Aster has flown all over the fields opening up the meadow daisies. She always dresses to match her cherished flower.

Cloe has been distracted from unfurling the red clover by a large bumblebee. She pauses to watch him gather pollen.

Flo has opened the Phlox blooms and she couldn’t help but pick some to take home.
