The Abandoned Keep
This was a little setting I did for a scene in a story called “The Gift”. It is an abandoned medieval castle or keep. These pictures were taken outdoors with natural lighting. I set up the scene in an old silo we have on our farm. There is a lot of moss in the silo so it made everything nice and green like it had been there for awhile.

Behind the Scenes:
Here is a glimpse that shows you a look at the setting inside the silo. It doesn’t look like much from here but when you get behind the lens of the camera it totally changes what you see and your perspective.
- A behind the scenes look inside the silo.
- You can see that good pictures can be made from anywhere; you just need the right set up and camera angles.
How To: The moss effect in these photos was created by using white crafting glue and static grass. I put the glue on my finger and rubbed it where I wanted the moss to be and then I sprinkled the static grass over the glue, pressed it down and then let it dry. The nice thing about using this kind of glue is that when you are finished you just wash it off with water and it comes off very easily so you can have your Playmobil parts back to their original condition in a matter of minutes. TIP: Do this over a piece of newspaper so you don’t waste your static grass. You can fold the newspaper and pour the grass back into your container.
